Modern Day Drifter by Jessica Tate

Modern Day DrifterModern Day Drifter by Jessica Tate
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jake was fresh out of prison and was one of the few men who had learned his lesson. He wanted to get as far away from the prison town as possible. He has a little money and bag with one change of clothes.  Jake eventually makes it to a another small Texas town and inquires about work. A man takes him out to the Smithson Ranch where he is given a job has a ranch hand. Smithson is a tough old man and he requires all his workers to join the rodeo and give him a cut. He can see potential in Jake from the beginning.

What I liked about the book?

Well mostly Jake, he is quiet keeps his own counsel and is not afraid of much of anything. He learns some valuable lessons on forgiveness.

What I did not like?

I feel like the author thought she had to wrap the book up in a neat little bow. She was on to a great thing.

What the author could have done better?

She could have delved deeper into the relationship with his father. Let it evolve a little more.

This is was a Kindle Free Novel.
