The Black Pearl by Francine Craft

The Black PearlThe Black Pearl by Francine Craft
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book and it was set in my favorite city in the world, New Orleans. It is set during the time period right after the slaves were freed.

Parts of the book were slow but I managed to not skip any pages.. I must say that Cele reminds me of a few people I know, blinded by their own wants.

This book is out of print and I must be honest and advise that I received this book as a gift from the author although it does not affect my review.

it was a good read.

Historical Fiction

I was searching for African American Historical romance novels on amazon when I located this book. I had never heard of Amber Green before then but I took the leap. If you are put off by erotica especially male on male erotica this book is not for you. I am going to be honest I enjoyed the story. Twilight Amery was a not so innocent character who became a companion to Hector and Stone and then she became much more.

Enjoy with a open mind!

I loved this book. CJ was awesome! He loves his bar and his lifestyle, but his family needs him to take the helm of the family business.  I felt so bad for Cicely and I wished her family were better towards her! Cicely, is hard-working, fashionable and a good friend.

I love forward to the next installment in this series.

Seductive Kiss by Francis Ray

I hesitate to say that this is my favorite in the Grayson Family and Friends series. Alex is a great hero. He is the brother of Catherine Stewart Grayson (Luke's wife). I believe this is the only story in the series where the couple was not set up by Ruth. I will have to re-read the one about Sabra's sister to make sure I am right.

Dianne, was in need of a friend and a better family. She was the face of her family's company but once her grandfather died and a new CEO was named, she was outed.. The rest you have to read to find out.
This is Book 5 in the Grayson Friends Series.

I enjoyed this it was a good read. I was not happy about the way it ended. And there is a sequel but it does not continue their story it moves on to focus on another person. I need to know what happened in their marriage.  There are some holes in the story that are not filled but it does not kill the storyline.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I feel like this book should be read either poolside or while on the beach. It was pretty good and I look forward to reading the follow up story which you can find an excerpt of at the end of this book. Keep in mind that this is a romance story while glimpses of pain, honor and a whole lot of Southern Tradition. I am a big fan of this author and I enjoyed this book.

One look at the cover and I was sure that I was wasting my time, boy was I wrong. This was a good book and I could not put it down. I read it in one sitting. When I finished this book I immediately went to Amazon for part 2. well guess what? She has not finished it yet. Ugh!
